My Writing Journey so Far.
History, especially social history, has always captured my interest and imagination. I am continually fascinated to learn about the way people lived in earlier times . What did they do day to day? How did they relate to each other and their communities? What did they really believe in?
This interest spilled over into my hobby, some would say obsession, when I began researching my family history . As I wrote up the mountains of information I'd gleaned from websites, databases, cemeteries and endless archives, I longed to fill in the gaps, and there are always many gaps no matter how thorough the research,  Stories to flesh out the individual beyond dates and addresses began to run through my head and invade my dreams.
And so began my creative writing.

On  this site I share my love of writing, literature, history and genealogy, exploring how, by using our imaginations we can travel back in time and, hopefully,  come to understand how the past continues to inform and shape our present lives..
